Received several awards for community service work, most exciting award was given to Marcus by Governor Frank Keating of Oklahoma. In 1996 they proclaimed February 28, 1996 as Marcus Carruthers Day in the State of Oklahoma. This award was given to Marcus for his contribution's to the school systems in Oklahoma, Marcus and Dionne has a small software company where Marcus develops children's educational multimedia software. This software is being used in schools all over the country.
